Halifax hiker missing in White Mountains Boston Herald, United States The state Fish and Game Department says Scott Mason of Halifax left the Appalachian Mountain Club's Pinkham Notch Visitor Center at about 8:30 am Saturday, intending to do a 17-mile hike .
